About Bongo Witbooi
Bongo Witbooi is a visual artist and animator whose work is deeply inspired by the people and world around him. His passion for art began at an early age, leading him to formal training at the Johannesburg Art Gallery and further studies in animation at Boston Media House.
Bongo’s creative journey gained international recognition with the award-winning animated music video “Vida e Doce” for Mi Casa, a project that showcased his talent and storytelling through motion and design. Rooted in the expressive realm of impressionism, his art explores themes of love, happiness, and hope, blending the vibrant spirit of his Soweto heritage with the serene influences of KwaTshatshu’s landscapes. Each piece he creates is both personal and universal, aiming to inspire, uplift, and connect with audiences worldwide.
